Maintenance

Keep your site up to date.

After your site is created and online, you will want to update your content regularly. This encourages repeat visits and keeps your site higher in the search engine ratings. (Search engines may detect “stale” site content, and downgrade the site accordingly in their rankings.)

There are three options for site maintenance:

  • You can maintain site content yourself. If you choose to do this, let us know up front, and we can quote on a solution that lets you maintain the site without needing to know web technologies like HTML and CSS. These solutions are referred to as “content management systems” (CMS). Our favourites are WordPress and Joomla. Even though you won’t need to be a web coder to use a CMS, there are techniques you will need to know to maintain content without compromising the appearance, stability and usability of your site. We offer in-person training throughout the Sunshine Coast and the Vancouver Lower Mainland, and also offer custom maintenance manuals that explain in detail how to maintain your particular web site.
  • We can maintain the content for you. This is done at an hourly rate.
  • You can use a combination of the two approaches. You might choose to do simpler changes using your CMS and then call us in for more complex changes, or if you get stuck somewhere.
