Variable Text Size

Our site designs allow the visitor to increase and decrease the text size using the options available on their browser. Try this with our site to see how it works.

  • Internet Explorer: View -> Text Size -> Larger/Smaller
  • Netscape: View -> Text Size -> Increase/Decrease
  • Firefox: Control+ and Control-.

This allows those with poorer vision to increase text size and those with better vision to view larger amounts of content without scrolling.

Where possible, we implement menu items as plain text, instead of images, so that they can also be resized. We then choose background images for the menu items that can be repeated, so that that the background can grow and shrink with the menu items.

Larger menu items are easier to use for those with motor control problems, because they offer a larger area in which the visitor can click the mouse to make their selection.
